Effects on Lungs

A study of 450 individuals found that people who smoked marijuana had more health problems and missed more days of work then people that didn't smoke at all.

People can get burning and stinging of the mouth and throat. They can also have a daily cough or a heavy cough. Phlegm, chest illness, an increased risk of lung infections, and obstructed airways have also been reported.

Marijuana might also cause cancer. A study showed that smoking marijuana increased the possibility of getting cancer in the head or neck. In this study, the more marijuana they smoked, the greater the likelihood of getting cancer.
